Wolfgang Bloch: The Quiet Gesture
By Dan Crockett
Personal artistic statements come broadly in two forms. Some are brash and clamour for our attention. Others are quieter and draw us in with their subtlety. Influenced by forces external to surfing, Wolfgang Bloch has approached the complicated genre of surf art with a unique eye. His paintings speak of the glimpse of a feathering wave, and arouse in the surfer that purest of stoked feelings - a sense of discovery.
